I am very excited about my upcoming show in Taos, NM at the Laughing Horse gallery which opens March 26-May 15. It is titled 'Free Rein Rodeo Sideshow" where all the pieces have been created within the last 2 years. I will be artist in residence for almost two weeks where I will get to explore the Taos area and be inspired by new surroundings once again. It will be a fun, new experience there and I can hardly wait to see what comes out of it.
For the past several weeks I have been working on portraits of children. They are inspired by early Americana narrative painting of which I am always drawn to. When I enter a gallery it is always the narrative works I gravitate towards. When my daughters were little I painted them or pictures of children. Now, once again, I am drawn to paint these little waifs of life.
