Please join Shari Osti, Susie Howell and myself for the 3rd Saturday Everett art walk this coming Saturday April 21st from 4-7pm. I have my "Flat Fish & France" show up until May 12th. The fish were a lot of fun to paint with their crazy migrating eyes and the Moulin Rouge was just as fun. I like to paint theatre and circus people so this was right up my alley. Color!
"Flat Fish & France" is the title I have given my new show of gouache paintings on brown paper. What do they have in common you ask? Well, first of all they are all painted by me and secondly, I have been inspired by the Morris Graves show I was in at the Rock/Dement Art Space back in 2010 and have created gouache paintings on brown paper since. The flat fish such as flounder, halibut and sole really tickle my funny bone with their migrating eyeball? Now that is an interesting feat of nature. The Moulin Rouge paintings comes from my love of theatre and circus people, their color and exuberance with a bit of naughtiness thrown in. Opening reception is Saturday April 14 from 4-7pm at 2702 Colby in Everett. Stop by and check it out!
