Sleepless Nights

3/8/12

Scotsman with His Ponies
Sometimes in the middle of the night when I can't sleep I think of all the things I should be doing with my artwork.  This recently finished painting reminds me of restlessness, feeling edgy and trying to control something that necessarily can't be controlled.  Scotsman with His Ponies is inspired by a painting I saw on the Isle of Mull in 2002 at  the McLean reunion I attended.  It was painted by a woman artist around the late 1800's and is living in a remote home on the Isle.  I hope to go back someday and revisit that wonderful wild country, Scotland.
